Privacy Policy for Notata
Last updated: June 23, 2026
Overview
Notata is a personal journaling app that records your moments, trips, and memories. Your data belongs to you. Everything you create in Notata is stored locally on your device. We do not operate servers, do not collect personal information, and do not share your data with third parties.
Data We Access
Notata requests access to the following on your device, solely to provide app features:
Location When you mark a moment, Notata can optionally record where you are. Your location data is stored only on your device and is never transmitted anywhere.
Photos and Camera You may attach photos and videos to your moments, either taken with your camera or selected from your photo library. These files remain on your device. Notata does not upload or transmit photos.
Microphone Notata may use your microphone to record voice notes attached to moments. Voice recordings are stored only on your device.
Motion and Fitness Notata reads your step count from your device’s motion sensors to show how active you were at the time of a moment. This data is read locally and is never transmitted.
Data Storage
All your moments, trips, photos, and notes are stored in a local database on your device. Notata does not use external servers, cloud storage, or databases. If you delete the app, all your data is deleted with it.
No Tracking or Analytics
Notata does not use advertising, analytics services, crash reporting tools, or any form of tracking. We do not know how you use the app.
Children’s Privacy
Notata does not knowingly collect information from children under 13. Because no data leaves your device, the app poses no data risk to users of any age.
Changes to This Policy
If the app ever adds features that change how data is handled (such as cloud sync or account sign-in), this policy will be updated before those features ship.
